On November 20–21, 2025, Bu Production proudly hosted an intensive international programme dedicated to the art of puppet storytelling and dramaturgy. Supported by Teatroskop and the Institut Français and held at the Maltepe Yaşar Kemal Cultural Center, this two-day event served as a vital platform for cross-cultural artistic exchange.

The programme kicked off with a public talk and a special performance of our contemporary puppet show "Meow". It then transitioned into an advanced writing workshop led by Milena Milanova (La Soif Company, France), coordinated by Burcu Görek (Bu Production), with the online participation of Svetlomira Stoyanova (Culture Beat Society, Bulgaria).

With the support of the French Institute in Serbia and Teatroskop — a programme initiated by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Culture, and Institut français Paris.

Talk & "Meow" Performance
The programme opened with a public talk for professional theatre artists and a special performance of our contemporary puppet show "Meow".
Writing for Puppet Theatre
How do we write for puppet theatre? What questions must we ask ourselves to craft a story that truly uses this art form and keeps the audience engaged throughout the performance?
Visual Dramaturgy
What are the unique features of puppetry, and how can we use them to create striking stage works? How do you write a scene for puppets? Practical and theoretical exercises.

A puppeteer, clown, and magician (new magic), Milena Milanova has been creating visual dramaturgies for both children and adults since 2006. Among the puppet shows she has written are Nikotine (adapted from Anton Chekhov), Forme-moi, In the Childhood Room, The Dog and the Fairy, Magic Penguin Circus, Madame Germaine's Cabinet of Curiosities, and In the Mirror. She works within Compagnie La Soif, based in Montreuil, in the Paris region of France.
